Lost Hill Lake is, in my mind, one of the dreamiest wedding destinations in all of St. Louis. It’s greenery and scenic overlooks make it an absolutely beautiful location to find yourself in, and I look forward to shooting there every time I get the opportunity. The only thing that can make a premier photo destination like this better is an even more dreamy and beautiful couple like Monica and Brandon.

Anyone with eyes can easily see, Monica is gorgeous and was a complete natural when it came to being front of the lens. Brandon was also confident in front of the camera in his undeniable cool demeanor and handsome looks. Together they were such a fun fair to watch interact together, especially when Brandon said something to bring out Monica’s joyful smile.

When we were first chatting through details about their elopement day, Monica and Brandon were initially overwhelmed by the potential of the sprawling Lost Hill Lake venue. This is understandable, as there is such a large variety of stunning photo locations at this venue and it can be hard to choose where to get started. Fortunately I was able to help guide them through the abundance of options, and ultimately we agreed on one of my favorite hidden spots – Lost Hill Lake’s unique overlook. Even better, this spot on their elopement day was the perfect vibe match to their boho style and contrasting orange florals. Sister Chicks Flowers really outdid themselves with Monica’s bouquet! So full, and the hint of pampas grass? Against Monica’s beautiful off-white lace dress and Brendan’s taupe suit, it shined. Every detail worked together, and after seeing Monica’s Pinterest inspiration boards throughout planning together, they were exactly her vision come to life.

M+B’s elopement was one of the highlights of my year as a photographer. I love elopements of every kind, but I have a particular soft spot for outdoor adventure vows like these.
